The end of the world theory: Facts on December 2012
Lots of interesting facts have emerged about December 2012. The media frenzy has gotten to a point where I’m inclined to believe the world itself is subconsciously aware of its impending fate. How did the Mayans get us all into this mess and who are those backing up their absurd theory?
The Mayans were a group of people who lived in Central America. Their existence spanned the length of three centuries, between sixth and ninth centuries A.D. History tells us they were extremely gifted and intelligent people. They had an amazing knowledge of math and arts. They were equally very good astronomers. They had a well documented compulsion with time. Before long, they had developed a wonderful calendar that had its roots in the future.
This calendar was founded on solar and planetary cycles. The moon was also taken into consideration and this is hardly a surprise because they were great uranologists. Their calendar has so far been astoundingly accurate and precise. They correctly predicted the coming of Spanish traveler Cortez. Their calendar stated clearly he would come by sea on the 5th of March, 1519. On this date, he and his fellow adventurers set ashore Tabasco. There have been a couple of other pinpoint predictions. Their theory that the world would end on December 21, 2012 is however the biggest of the whole lot.
The calendar of the Mayans ended on 21-12-12. They quite easily concluded that the earth would experience lots of changes that would lead to its end on this date. It simply means they didn’t see the world surviving beyond this particular day.
The Mayan calendar tells us that there will be a winter solstice on this date. When it occurs, the centre of the Milky Way galaxy, the sun and our dear planet earth will experience a very, very rare astronomical alignment. This alignment will cause the North and the South poles to shift. Albert Einstein, some 56 years ago, wrote a book titled “The Path of the Pole”. Here, this genius made it categorically clear that poles could actually shift, so the Mayans have hit it right on the head again.
What are the consequences of the two poles switching positions? Well, think of all the greatest disasters that can ever occur. Volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, floods, tsunamis and the likes will be sparked off. We really don’t have to go over the attendant effects of these catastrophes, do we? The lingering thought is can any form of life survive these calamities? If yes, what happens to them after everything dies down?
Some theories also say that the astronomical alignments might cause the earth to disappear into some black hole. This would mean our planet, and all its inhabitants, would suffer extinction. It’s all getting hairy now, isn’t it?
One should remember that the Mayan predictions on the end of the world are not founded on nothing. Their antecedents also speak strongly for them. Science has also backed up December 21, 2012 intelligently. On the flip side, it is claimed the Mayans simply didn’t have any more space on the calendar they developed. For this reason, their calendar ended coincidentally on December 21, 2012. Can we also disclaim the possibility that they felt the period of an astronomical alignment was best to stop their calendar? That they had frankly just had enough?
There will be lots of permutations and combinations leading to December 21, 2012. Not bad, as the Mayans were good mathematicians themselves. Maybe they were simply interested in bothering our poor heads a little. Maybe not. I guess time will take care of everything and so I’ll revert to the old cliché. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and wait. How long will this wait last?

The end of the world theory: Why December 2012 is important
The furore created by the purported end of the world is infectious to say the least. This scary proposition has raised an infinite number of questions that demand answers. What will happen to the world on December 21, 2012? Is there any real chance the world will end on that day? Or are we simply going to continue living with this vague theory until that day arrives?
The plain truth is that most religions believe that the world will end someday. The brick wall here is the lack of an exact time and day. The holy books just contain signs that embody the last days on earth. Most religious scholars in the world today tend to believe the “end time” is near. They argue their case by showing practical examples of happenings in the society. This makes the idea of December 2012 a possibility, however distinct.
Going down memory lane, one remembers what marked the end of the 20th century. The whole world stood still as the year 1999 counted down. The fact that the first day of the 21st century could mark the end of the world was an open secret. We all held our breaths as clocks the world over chimed 12 a.m. Suffice to add that’s a little over a decade ago and literally, the world has still failed to cease existing. What we are dealing with at the moment is a new scare.
What are the implications of the world grinding to an abrupt halt? How possible is this phenomenon and how do we get affected? Will we all go into extinction? These are some of the many questions that have been arising in the past few months. How did this all begin?
First, it is important to realize that this date was not just chosen. A particular group of people called the Mayans triggered this belief. Surprisingly, they picked this date many centuries ago. They are not alone however as Mother Shipton and Merlin also have notes on December 21, 2012. The Chinese I Ching also contains valuable information on this sacred and much dreaded day. Astronomers have also used great scientific facts to back up this date. The world will not just end, they argue. Pole shifts predicted by the great Albert Einstein in 1955 will be the harbinger of this event. The alignment of certain celestial bodies on this date also spells doom for the world. Then there’s the movie titled 2012 which stars John Cusak.
We can all find out if the world can truly end on this date. Get all the information you require and catch up on the facts here. We are all going to be affected by December 21, 2012. Be informed and try to catch up on all that you can. You never know what you might uncover.
